Working with users

A user is anyone with a role in localizing content with WorldServer

In WorldServer, the user is more than just an account for accessing WorldServer. A user can be categorized by type, sorted into workgroups and given a workflow role to completely customize the WorldServer experience. You can add, view, modify, delete, enable or disable a user. You can also search for WorldServer users by several criteria, indicate whether WorldServer should display active or disabled users, or both, and specify which columns of user information you want displayed on this page.

To find users

  1. From Management > User Setup > Users, select the Search panel checkbox.
The Search In: list lets you search for specific criteria in the following property types:
    • Name
    • Username
    • Email
    • User Type
    • Locales
    • Workgroups
    • Workflow roles
    • Creation date
    • Last login
  2. Enter the filter criteria in the Search for: box.
For example, type in jk to find all users with the combination “jk” in their username. WorldServer searches for that string combination in only the property type specified.
  3. Click the green arrow.
WorldServer searches all users and returns any and all matches.

To view enabled and disabled users

From Management > User Setup > Users, choose the type of users to display in the View list.
  • Active Users displays only current enabled WorldServer users
  • Disabled Users displays users that have been disabled in WorldServer.
  • All Users displays all users with WorldServer accounts, both active and disable.

To configure columns

  1. From Management > User Setup > Users, click Choose Columns.
The Configure Table Columns dialog box displays two lists and four arrow buttons, two for moving items from one list to the other, and two for moving a selected item up or down in its list. The list on the left shows columns available for display in the table. The list on the right shows columns currently visible in the table.
  2. Double-click, or select and click the appropriate arrow button to move columns from the Available to the Visible list (or from the Visible list to the Available list).
  3. Click OK.
WorldServer refreshes the Users page and columns appear as configured.
Note: In addition to configurable user properties, the Users page includes a column for the date and time a user was created.
