Term statuses are represented by icons, which appear next to each term in the Search result set pane and in the term viewer.

Deprecated, Superseded | Deprecated terms are undesirable or incorrect terms that should not be used to express the concept.
Superseded terms are terms that are no longer preferred or admitted, and should not be used to express the concept. |
Not all term statuses have distinct meanings to WorldServer. Standardized, legal and regulated terms are treated like approved terms (acceptable for use). Superseded terms are treated like deprecated (undesirable) terms. Because there is some redundancy, your administrator can decide on a subset of these statuses most relevant to your site's needs. An option in general.properties can be used to configure these statuses:
term_optional_statuses=standardizedTerm-admn-sts legalTerm-admn-sts regulatedTerm-admn-sts supersededTerm-admn-sts
Omitting any of the optional statuses from the list in general.properties causes them not to appear in WorldServer. WorldServer internally continues to recognize the statuses for processing, import, and export. But the editing and search screens display only the configured statuses.
