You might receive custom file types from SDL, or modify your own using the SDK. In either case, you upload them from the 
	 Customization page, where they can be used in your translation projects. 
  
 
	  
	 
 
	 Note the following about the file type components that appear on the 
		Customization page: 
	 
 
	  
	  
		- File types provided by SDL usually start with the class name 
		  com.idiominc.ws.filters. 
		
- Custom file types appear in the list with a check box on the left and can be deleted. 
		
- Embedded file types also appear in the list, but cannot be deleted. 
		
- You must associate a custom file type with a MIME type on the 
		   page before you can use it in a translation project.

Note: Custom file types run directly on the WorldServer application machine, and not on the File Type Support (FTS) server. Some connectors, such as the SQL connector, do not permit mixing file types (which use the FTS server) with custom filters in the same mount. 
		
 
	 Upload a custom file type
 
		 
		 
		  - On the 
			 Customization: File Types page, click 
			 Add. 
		  
- Click 
			 Browse. 
		  
- Select the ZIP file containing the file type. 
		  
- Click 
			 Open. 
		  
- Click 
			 OK.
