When you click
Update in the Task List page for a project, WorldServer schedules for update
all tasks selected in the update view.
Note: To see the
Update button, you must have one of the following update views selected
in the task view selector:
- all tasks with changed
assets – This view shows all tasks whose assets have been
updated since the task was segmented.
- active tasks with changed
assets – This view shows all active (not completed or
canceled) tasks whose assets have been updated since the task was
segmented.
- finished tasks with
changed assets – This view shows all completed or canceled
tasks whose assets have been updated since the task was segmented.
When you click
Update, the
Update Tasks confirmation dialog box displays; if you
click
OK, all selected tasks are put into a
Pending Update state. Select
Include in project cost calculation if you want all the work that has occurred in the tasks to be updated
in the project cost calculation.
The tasks pending update are updated (that is, canceled and restarted)
when a workflow step that allows for task update has been completed.
Note: In addition to active tasks, you can update
completed or canceled tasks in a similar way if there are updated
assets for them. To do this, use the finished tasks with changed assets view. Although workflow operations (like Claim or Complete) are disabled
for canceled or completed tasks, with this view you can select canceled
and completed tasks for update.
