Exporting WorldServer objects

By using the export feature, you can copy the objects in a WorldServer configuration from one server to another. It is especially useful if you have configured WorldServer on a test system and you want to start production work on another server using the same configuration. This is often referred to as deployment.

  1. Go to Management > Administration > Export Objects.
  2. From the Object Type list, select the object type whose objects you want to export.
  3. Optional: If you want to export more than one type of object, select the Export list check box.
Thus, you can see the objects you have selected as you move from object type to another, creating a complete list of all the objects you want to export.
  4. Select the objects you want to export.
  5. When finished, click Next.
  6. On the Export Objects - Step 2 of 2 page, choose one of the following options:
    • Primary objects only – to export only the objects you selected.
    • Include referenced objects – to export the objects you selected, as well as and all the other objects they reference. Referenced objects are marked with a star next to their names.
  7. Click Export.
  8. After the objects have been exported, in the new dialog box, click Save File > OK.
  9. Specify the name and the location of the file, and then click Save > OK.
You can now import the file to another server.
