Freeform Editor

The Freeform Editor allows you to edit a task or a source or target asset without saving to translation memory. The Freeform Editor is well-suited to indirect translations where a segment-to-segment translation, such as that in the Translation Workbench, is not ideal. In addition, it allows you to edit a source asset.

Note: You must have Linkage set up before using the Freeform Editor.

The Freeform Editor appears as a result of performing the following commands:

Select a source asset in WorldServer Explorer and click Edit/Translate.
Select a target asset in WorldServer Explorer, and click Freeform Editor in the Translation Workbench.
Select a task from the task list, and click Freeform Editor in the Translation Workbench.

You can choose to edit the asset in the browser or to download the asset and edit offline. You can also access the Viewer and perform a term database search.
