You can import a file in MultiTerm 5 format that was exported from a MultiTerm 5 termbase using the WorldServer MultiTerm export defiition. This legacy format is provided for backwards compatibility.
Before you can import the MultiTerm 5 information, it must be exported from a MultiTerm 5 termbase to a file in a very specific WorldServer format.
- Launch MultiTerm.
- Open an existing MultiTerm termbase in exclusive access mode.
- Specify the
idiom.mdx export definition, by browsing to the WorldServer home directory (the
ws-legacy directory).
- Export the termbase to a filename of your choice.
You now have a text file containing MultiTerm 5 termbase information that you can import into WorldServer.
-
In WorldServer, go to
and click the terminology database into which you want to import entries.
Tip: If you want to add entries into a new terminology database, you must first set up the terminology database in
.
-
In the terminology database screen, click

Specify the format
MultiTerm 5, then browse for the file to import and click

Note: You can create a new attribute by selecting
(create new) for an entry attribute. This brings up the new attribute editor —
Import MultiTerm into Term Database <TD> (Step 3 of 3) — when you click
Import. Configure the appropriate attribute types.
-
Match both languages and attributes in the import files to WorldServer counterparts, or ignore them. Click

WorldServer imports the MultiTerm 5 file. The results page displays the number of term entries imported as well as any errors that may have been encountered.
