XML Settings and File Extensions in WorldServer

The following settings pages specify how WorldServer handles the XML File Types. The File Types share most of the same settings pages, but have different defaults.
Settings Use these settings to...
Detection Provide rules for WorldServer to identify the type of XML by examining the contents of the file.
Parser Specify the parser rules for this XML File Type. Parser rules differentiate translatable from non-translatable text.
Note: In WorldServer, you may only import parser rule files with the .xml extension.
Writer Specifies the UTF-8 BOM and xml:lang attributes in the target file.
Entities Specify how WorldServer processes character entities.
Namespaces Specify additional namespace declarations for WorldServer to use when it processes a file.
Whitespace Specify how WorldServer should treat whitespace.
Validation Specify that WorldServer validates the XML documents it opens against the schema files that you specify.
Embedded Content Define what WorldServer treats as embedded content in the document, and how tags for that content are handled.
XML files are not limited to the .xml extension. You may find that different XML "flavors" also use the extensions in the following list by default. In WorldServer you can connect a File Type to use these extensions (on the Management > Administration > Customization > MIME types page), or any other extension you wish.
