About the Rich Text Format (RTF) File Type (Deprecated)

The Rich Text Format (RTF) File Type (Deprecated) recognizes the .rtf file extension.

You can configure some aspects of SDL file types in Management > Linguistic Tool Setup > File Types.

Note: To process RTF files with this file type, you need Microsoft Word 2007 or later (or Microsoft Word 2003 with the Office 2007 compatibility pack) on the machine that runs the FTS Server. However, if you migrate to the new version of this file type, you no longer need to have Microsoft Office installed on the FTS Server machine.

If you want to use WorldServer 11.3 with SDL Trados Studio 2017 SR1 CU8 or later, configure the text/rtf MIME type in WorldServer, as well as any other MIME type that processes RTF assets, to use the new version of the RTF file type instead of the deprecated one.
