Uploading folders or assets

Uploading an asset means copying the asset from your file system to WorldServer. For example, if you have downloaded an asset and have worked on it offline, you can upload the file to WorldServer when you have finished editing it. You can upload a single file or a set of files. If you upload a set of files, place them in a zip archive before uploading. During upload, the files will be extracted from the zip archive.

  1. In the WorldServer Explorer, select the folder into which you want to upload.
  2. Click Asset > Upload.
  3. In the Upload Files dialog box, browse to the file or zip archive you plan to upload.
Note: If you have a versioning connector configured, when you upload an asset (or assets), you can choose to not have the assets checked in. If the Check in file on upload check box is checked (the default), WorldServer checks the file in upon upload. If you remove the check mark, WorldServer does not check the file in.
  4. Click Upload.
Note: WorldServer uploads the selected file or, if you have placed multiple files in a zip file, files. Uploaded files replace files of the same name.
  5. If you cannot immediately see the uploaded files, right-click the folder name and click Refresh.
