Exporting indexes

You can export an index outside WorldServer for editing. You can then import the index back into WorldServer if it was edited in FrameMaker.

  1. In the WorldServer Explorer, select the source files for which to export index entries.
  2. Click Tools > Export/Import > Export Index.
  3. In the Export Index Entries Offline Work dialog box, select the format in which to export the index data. The default format is comma separated values (CSV) packaged into a ZIP file.
  4. Choose the indexable elements to import, either selected entries or all entries.
  5. Click Export.
  6. After exporting the index entries, WorldServer summarizes the export process and prompts you to save the ZIP file. Click Save to save the ZIP file, then OK to close the WorldServer dialog box.
    Note: Importing and exporting an index works with FrameMaker files only.
