Exclusions page
- Exclusions by color
- You can ignore cells formatted with a certain color from the standard palette in Excel, which means that they will not be processed for translation. To do so, select the
Skip cells formatted with the selected color check box, and then select the color of the cells that you want to exclude.
- Exclusions by column
- You can ignore an entire column in a spreadsheet. To do so, select the
Skip selected columns check box, click
Add Column, and then type the name of the column and click
OK. Repeat for all the columns that you want to exclude.

- You can extract comments for translation or skip them.
- Headers and footers
- You can extract headers and footers for translation or skip them.
- Hidden content (columns, rows, columns, sheets)
- You can extract these for translation or skip them.
- Sheet names
- You can extract names of sheets or skip them.

- You can extract alternative text for translation or skip it.
- Cells with numeric content
- You can extract cells that contain numbers or skip them.

- Document properties include the document's author, its creation date, and so on. You can extract these properties for translation or ignore them.
- Treat special characters as inline placeholder tags
- You can choose to treat special characters as characters or as inline tags.
- Skip character spacing and kerning
- You can include advanced font formatting features such as character spacing and kerning in the translation or ignore them.
- Extract optional hyphens
- You can extract or remove optional hyphens. The placement of optional hyphens depends on the structure and pronunciation of words in the source language, so you can usually remove them.
