The
Background Jobs page allows you to monitor the status of all jobs running in the background. Depending on your privileges, you can view all background jobs (or just yours), cancel, hold, or resume jobs, or change the priority of jobs.

The engine on which a job is running, or blank if the job is still in the queue.

Completion Date
|
For a job that has been completed, the date on which it finished running.

Creation Date
|
The date on which the job was submitted.

Creator
|
The person who submitted the job.

Execution Log
|
Click this link to see a log file showing the details of running the job. If the job is still running, the log is updated dynamically. By default, it is updated every 10 seconds, but you can change this setting on the
page, under
How often to auto refresh pages.

Job ID
|
Internally assigned number identifying the job.
|
Job Name
|
Descriptive name of the job.
|
Priority
|
The priority of the job. By default, all jobs have priority 5. The priority can be any number, where a job with priority 1 has the highest priority, meaning that it will be selected for running before a job with a lower priority.

Status
|
Current status of the job, one of the following, depending on the view you have chosen:
- Executing – The job is currently running. Also displays the time elapsed since starting the job.
- In queue – The job is waiting to run. Also displays the order in which this job will be handled.
- On Hold – The job has been placed on hold, preventing it from starting until it is resumed.
- Canceled – A job that was previously submitted has been canceled, removing it from the queue.
- Completed – A job has finished running, and it ran successfully.
- Failed – A job encountered an error while running, and was terminated.
- Waiting to be canceled – A user has canceled a running job, and the system is in the process of shutting down the job.

Viewing dynamic updates to the Background Jobs queue
By default, the Background Jobs queue displays a static snapshot of the jobs in the queue. To view continuous updates, click
Turn auto refresh on. this feature allows you to watch the flow of jobs through the system.
By default, this page is updated every ten seconds. You can
change the frequency of updates by going to and
editing the field, How often to auto refresh pages.
Work with Job Views
You can work with views of the Background Jobs queue as described in the following table. Views help you focus on a subset of all background jobs in the system.

Use filters to view specific Jobs
The Filtering feature allows you to select a subset of background tasks in the queue so that you can quickly find a job you are searching for. For example, you might want to filter on all jobs with a specific status.
To use this feature, from the
Filter list, select the category to filter on, for example
Status. In the text box, type the value to filter on, for example,
Executing, and then .
