Segmented Assets Cleaner

Cleans up marked segmentation data in workflow-based and ad-hoc assets. This cleaner can also be run by the general cleaner as part of garbage collection.

When a document is edited in segments, a segmented version of the document gets created. This cleaner removes segmented assets which are no longer needed because the source asset has changed in the repository. By default, WorldServer marks obsolete segmentation data in asset type workflows for cleanup immediately upon completion or cancellation. In combination with this separate cleaner, WorldServer can reclaim memory and database space more quickly that it would otherwise.

This cleaner has a default nightly schedule. SDL recommends running it at least as often as the general cleaner.

Cleaner Settings

You have two options for deleting obsolete data in FTS. Both features are always enabled by default.. SDL strongly recommends that you use both new features.

Limit run time duration
Default = unchecked
Set the amount of time that the cleaner will run, if experience shows that it takes a long time, or interferes with system performance. The next time it runs it will pick up where it left off.
Minimum number of days before temporary FTS data is deleted
Default = 1 (one). Schedule between 1 and 30 days.
Sets the number of days that temporary FTS data will be saved in the database. This data is generally left over from ad hoc scoping.
Minimum number of days before unclaimed FTS data is deleted
Default = 14. Schedule between 1 and 30 days.
Sets the number of days that unclaimed FTS data will be saved in the database. This data may be related to cancelled tasks or other interruptions to the WorldServer claiming operation.

Cleaner Schedule

Run with General Cleaner
Use the same schedule for the segmented assets cleaner as for the general cleaner. With this option, the date and time controls are not separately available.
Set custom dates and times
Specify the schedule for the segmented assets cleaner separately. By default, this schedule is slightly offset from the general cleaner schedule

Date and Time Selection

Set custom dates and times for the cleaner with the option buttons and check boxes on the page.

Date(s)

Time(s)
